PowerPoint for Critical Reflections

My video was made through PowerPoint where I inserted pictures from my production representing various slides about critical reflections. I first went to designer and found a format that would fit my presentation and began typing the information needed. I already had my information down, so this process was done very quickly. Once I finished touching up the intro slides and the pictures from the clips, I began recording my voice over. It took me a few tries, and I tried speaking the best I can and kept the one that sounded clearest. Some of the issues I encountered were during the recording, because it was my first time doing this on PowerPoint, I was very confused on the steps I had to take. My friend walked me through the process, but when I started recording my laptop would fail and not get my voice, I had to restart a couple times which was very obnoxious. The problem was that my laptop was is very slow and when I would skip through the slides quickly, it would lag and not rec...

Conventions and Social Groups or Issues - Blog Post

How does your product use or challenge conventions?  Our video intro uses one of the most common conventions known as conflict. There is man vs. nature conflict when the lab scientists had to fight against the chimpanzee. This is the main quarrel throughout the video as it results in death.  There are also multiple genre conventions which illustrate the theme, characters, and setting of the story. The theme is revolved around murder as our video is a horror genre theme. There are multiple characters in the story that include the victims and the killer. The setting of our video takes place in a shadowy forest to create a mysterious tone for our genre. How does it represent social groups or issues?    Our video enforces animal testing and animal endangerment as it exemplifies how animals get kidnapped from their homes for the use of experiments and new products. This is emphasized throughout our video when our actor that plays a chimp gets taken out of his habit...

These platforms are two of the main platforms that all users post their videos and content to. What 3 forms of advertisement would you use to promote your video? This is one of the quickest ways to promote any kind of media in order to spread awareness. Another form of advertisement I would use is social media as I can allow myself to communicate my video with others and show them my work. The third form of advertisement is I would use is billboard advertising. This is also a very common to expose people to the kind of media you're sharing. Blog Entry: Issues and Resolutions in the filmmaking

The issues we had while trying to make our film were that whenever we were filming it would always become dark out so quickly so it didn’t give us a lot of time to produce the clips we wanted to. It was hard to find the right time to do because everyone had a different schedule so we would always film pretty late. Eventually we all decided to go early in the afternoon to have more daylight to film. Another issue we had that we overcame was the type of iphone camera we would use. The one that we were filming with was running out of storage quickly and didn’t allow us to save the clips we wanted. All of us then decided it would be easier to just use whoever’s phone is the most up to date one and had the best video quality. It was still difficult for us to share the video clips to one another because of how many clips there were so everything was very slow to load. To save time, we put all the clips together in an icloud link that way we could save space and it would be able to load ...

Explain why or why not:  The character in the film is wearing all black (black tank top and black pants). The costume was essential for telling the story as black represents evil because the rest of the characters wear white to represent victims and purity from the murder. Photographs of the actor (if you can get them to agree to a picture, but you could use a still shot from the video): Why have you chosen that actor? Explain: This actor volunteered to play this role as he is also the most fit and flexible to play it. Why is he/she suitable for your genre and audience? Explain. He is the most suitable for our genre and audience as he is able to keep character and play very realistic motions.
